MLJ3D Licenses
MicrolightJava-3D is available under a number of licenses. The development
license has some restrictions but makes MLJ3D available without charge. Other
licenses include one of a number of payment schedules which are summarised
below.
All licenses include free fixes and upgrades within the same major version number
(that is the v1.x.x series at the time of writing).
The development version of the library contains all the functionality of the full
version but the 3D display has the text "MLJ3D-demo" superimposed.
Applications developed using this version of the libary may not be distributed.
There is no cost up-front associated with the development license. This value
will be deducted from the cost of a future purchase of a full license.
The license text.
The full license makes MLJ3D available without the overlay, and with full distribution
rights for a single application built using MLJ3D. The application must be named and
briefly described when the license is taken. Information will be treated in the strictest
confidence.
The cost of a license can be split between a single up-front payment and royaly share as
shown in the table below.

*Note that the "Royalty only" license carries a €50 administration fee.
**Note that this fee structure is subject to an effective minimum net revenue of €1 per
download. The fee payable to Bit-7 by the licensee will therefore be at least €0.1 per download.
In all cases the royalty share is a percentage of the total net revenue received by the licencee.
The license text.
The source license grants the same rights as the full license but the distibution
includes the full source code to MLJ3D and associated tools. In addition it grants
the right to modify the source and ship the modified version.
A source license requires an upfront payment of €3000 over and above each of the full license
prices.
